Whilst Selina was here, we went off to Durham, and no trip to Durham is complete without visiting the Cathedral. These are all views from the top.
The castle and the main part of the city of Durham beyond |
Looking over to the river - although given that Durham is built in a loop of the river Wear (pronounced to rhyme with 'ear'), that could be said about almost any view. |
Looking down on the main body of the Catherdal |
The view south of the countryside of County Durham |
Some of the houses of Durham |
The viaduct - carrying the east coast mainline. If ever you get the chance, you should do that journey by train - it has to be one of the most beautiful views from a train anywhere. |
The 2 other towers of the Cathedral. If you watch the Harry Potter films closely (particularly Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone) you will see that part of Hogwarts Castle is made up of views of Durham Cathedral. |
